The brand new 2017 Aston Martin DB11 Prototype is long-awaited replacement for a legendary DB9. Although this elegant GT coupe is currently in prototype phase, according to some sources, many solutions introduced in this model will continue to live in final version of this product.

The new DB11 has a sharper design lines and appears to be tighter than a DB9. Drive-train was also trimmed. Bonded aluminum chassis was kept from a previous model, but now is 40kg lighter and 20% stiffer. Overall weight of a car is 1770 kg, while according to dimensions newer model is a bit bigger, than the predecessor.

Yet, somehow designers managed to blend classic Aston Martin cues with some very aerodynamics solutions such are clamshell bonnet in front and AeroBlade on the rear end. The latter operates as a virtual spoiler fed by discreet air intakes at the base of each C-pillar. The spoiler directs air to the rear deck-lid, reducing lift.
Bodywork also includes wide oversized radiator grille, LED headlights and wider door openings, and the two-tone roof that gives the Aston Martin DB11 a distinct look. Unconventional taillights, at a back of a car resemble those previously seen on Aston Martin’s Vulcan project.
Exclusively for the DB11, Japanese company Bridgstone designed tire which was named S-007, as a tribute to more than 50 years long partnership between Aston Martin, and a world’s most famous secret agent, James Bond.

A dashboard houses a full-color 12 inch TFT LCD display, for displaying driver information, while second center-mounted 8 inch TFT screen takes control of the infotainment. Aston Martin DB11 interior is also equipped with an auto-park assist feature and 360-degree birds-eye view camera too.
One of the improvements praised by Aston Martin’s constructors, is that DB11 has more occupant space including rear head and legroom than a DB9. There is plenty of legroom and shoulder room up front. Still, seat configuration is arranged in 2+2 manner, with an emergency accommodation in the back. Seats are comfortable and supportive, with a low seating position.
Steering wheel is comfortably molded with a button control for 3 modes of handling: GT, Sport, and Sport-plus. Rear seats have ISOFIX mounting points, and the luggage compartment is enhanced compared to DB9.

Under the bonnet of 2017 Aston Martin DB11 is 5.2 Liter V12 engine, but with two turbochargers which results in power output of impressive 600 bhp at 6500 rpm, with torque of 516 lb/ft from 1500-5000 rpm. It takes only 3.9 second for DB11 to complete 0-62 mph sprint, while its top speed is 200 mph. Aston Martin DB11 transmission is 8-speed automatic ZF, with a rear-wheel drive. Estimated fuel economy for this car is 24 mpg.
