The 2016 Volvo XC90 is redesign of one of the most popular Volvo cars ever. This model was known for its high quality build, perfect family design and now, after years of minor updates, it comes completely refreshed for 2016.  The new engines are here, amazing exterior, futuristic interior, three trims (which we shall compare on the way) and much more. Probably the best way to
describe it shortly is given by the guys from Car and driver where they said: The XC90 is a handsome, square-jawed Swede striving to offer more efficiency and safety than its rivals while adding a dose of Scandinavian flair. But let’s dig into some specs and see some features on our own.

Under the hood of the 2016 Volvo XV90 is 2.0 liter T6 engine which is paired with eight speed Geartronic automatic transmission distributing the output to all four wheels. The engine delivers 316 horsepower, 295 lb-ft of torque and offers features like ECO+ functionality, Start/Stop Technology, five driving modes (adjustable as well) to reduce CO2 emission and improve driving experience as well as fuel economy.

The front of the Volvo XC90 2016 is completely redesigned and it features a completely new grille and redesigned LED headlights. The bumper is completely blended with front fascia and it features two air intakes. A look at the profile will remind you on the previous model, however, the ones who are looking at Inscription trim level will notice 20 inch 10 spoke Tinted Silver Alloy Wheels, R-Design XC90 features 20 inch 5-Spoke Tech Matte Grey Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels while XC90 Momentum rolls on 19 inch 10-Spoke Turbine Alloy Wheels in Silver Bright.

Futuristic and luxurious 2016 Volvo XC90 interior is packed with all kinds of goodies. It offers seating for seven passengers, covered with Nappa leather (Inscription trim), 12.3 inches digital instrument display, leathered steering wheel with gear shift paddles and many more. The 2016 Volvo XC90 MSRP is $48,900 for Momentum trim level, $52,900 for R-Design and $54,50o for Inscription. Packages we mentioned above will cost you another $1,050 for Climate Package, $2,000 for Convenience, $2,100 for Momentum Plus and $1,600 for Vision Pack. Depending on trim chosen, some of the colors offered are either free or additional $550 and they include Ice White, Passion Red, Crystal White Pearl, Twilight Bronze Metallic, Bursting Blue Metallic…

In the end, let’s just say that the redesign made by the manufacturer is more than successful – the new Volvo XC90 offers a lot: fresh looks, improved efficiency (leading in the segment), new body structure and much more.
