2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Engine Specs
Only by observing underneath its bodywork, one might reveal the true nature of the 2016 Cayman GT4. And there, surprising clues could be found: engine from 911 Carrera S, while the front suspension, steering system, and rear brakes from the 911 GT3. With parts borrowed from its bigger and more powerful brothers, this car means no joke. Compared with other models from a Stuttgart-based car-manufacturer, 2016 Cayman GT4 has 45 horsepower more than Cayman GTS, 35 more than base 911, and only 15 less than 911 Carrera S. Under the hood of 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 is 3.8 liters flat-six engine, which delivers astonishing 385 hp (283 kW) at 7,400 rpm. Maximum torque of 309 lb.-ft. is available in the range from 4,750 to 6,000 rpm. When combined with a low weight-to-power ratio of 7.7 lbs. /hp, this leads to a veritable explosion of power. Its 0-60 mph sprint takes just 4.2 seconds while top track speed is 183 mph. These specs are due to flawless 6 speed manual transmission, with dual-mass flywheel and self-adjusting clutch. The SPORT button activates automatic throttle-blipping for downshifts and provides sporty gear changes. Stopping this powerful machine isn’t easy, that’s why constructor installed fascinating 15″ rotor on iron disk brakes. In an optional Sport Chrono package these brakes are upgraded to carbon-ceramic, taken from the GT3, with obnoxious 16.1 inches rotors at front, 15.4 inches at the rear. Expected fuel consumption should be around 18MPG in city and 23 MPG on highway.
