2016 Lincoln MKX Engine, Specs and Performance

The new 2016 Lincoln MKX is powered by a 2.7 liter EcoBoost engine which delivers 330 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. For improved driving experience, the manufacturer included adaptive steering, which automatically adjusts handling based on how the vehicle is moving, that way improving driving experience by providing smooth and precise turning. Lincoln drive control with CCD offers three driving modes, providing fast suspension reactions and smooth ride in different conditions. According to the manufacturer, the 2016 MKX can handle any road condition thanks to intelligent AWD and continuous road monitoring which enables proper distribution of torque and traction.

Another engine available is a 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 with 303 horsepower and 275 lb-ft torque. The engine is paired with six speed automatic transmission, and the fuel economy of both engines is rated at 17 mpg city, 26 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined with FWD, while AWD rates are 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined. The only difference is eceonomy of 2.7 EcoBoost AWD, for which city economy is rated at 17 mpg.

The 2016 Lincoln MKX exterior is inspired by airplane design. Aggressive and stylish front end is distinctive with adaptive HID headlamps and vertically split grille between them, giving overall expression that left grille and left headlamp, as well as their counterparts on the right, are grouped on each side. Between them is a Lincoln badge with emerging camera below it. Headlights are tuned to turn in sync with steering, providing much more visibility, and furthermore, these lights provide 50 percent more energy efficiency. The 2016 MKX Lincoln will roll on 18 inch painted, 20 or 18 inch premium painted aluminum wheels. The top features panoramic sunroof, providing sky view to every passenger while power sunshade keeps the interior cool. Hands-free power liftgate around back provides access to rear cargo area by simple push of a button.

Available 2016 Lincoln MKX colors are Velvet Black, Ruby Red, Allure Blue, Bronze Fire, Ingot Silver, Luxe, Platinum Dune and White Platinum.

A very nice feature offered is a system that “senses” your approach, so while you walk toward your MKX, door handle sockets and exterior lights will glow brighter, welcoming and telling you that the car is ready to go.
