The new 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT has a bit slicker exterior while overall, its design is more European. For the first time, this compact car was released back in 1990 and since then, through five generations, it has gone through a lot of changes. The first vehicle from the fifth generation had its debut at 2010 Busan International Motor show, while the first Elantra GT was released in 2012 as a 5 door hatchback.

Under the hood of 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT is 2.0 Liter Inline 4-cylinder engine which delivers 173 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 154 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. This engine is paired six speed manual transmission or optional six speed automatic. Its top speed is 125 miles per hour, while for 0-60 mph it needs 8 seconds. Fuel consumption rates are estimated at 24 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway and 27 mpg combined.
2016 Hyundai Elantra GT Exterior Design
As we previously said, there were some changes on 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT, which make its appearance more elegant and classy. A bar which separates the lower and upper grille is removed and now there are only horizontal bars from top to bottom. The shape of grille itself is a bit more angular while on previous model it was more round. Besides available LED lights, there are also fog lights which improve visibility in bad weather conditions.
By looking at the sides we can notice new 17 inch wheels and new door handles which are placed a bit higher on this model. Around back is hidden rear view camera with a display on the center console. Thanks to its sharp body lines, the new Elantra kept its sporty appearance, while overall exterior updates are very satisfying. Available 2016 Elantra GT colors available are Black Noir Pearl, Monaco White, Titanium Gray Metallic, Shimmering Silver, Windy Sea Blue and Geranium Red. It is obvious that Hyundai put some effort to improve the exterior of Elantra and so far, we are very satisfied with changes.

The interior of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT kept most of the style from the previous version. The cabin is still spacious enough to fit five passengers and it offers sunglasses holder, front and rear cup holders, bottle holders, glove box, center console storage area and front seatback pockets. Higher trims offer 7 inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, 172 watt audio system with AM\FM\SiriusXM and Bluetooth streaming, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, Proximity Key entry with push button start, dual automatic temperature control with CleanAir Ionizer and Auto Defogging System. Overall, the interior is very satisfying and everyone can find accessories according to his likings in both optional and standard kits.
