The first version of Honda Pilot was released back in 2002 and it was the part of the first generation which went on till 2008. When the new and refreshed V6 engine was placed under the hood of Pilot, the First generation went to retirement. Second generation lasted till 2015 model after which was succeeded by the newest Third one. The 2016 Honda Pilot had its debut on February 12th 2015 at Chicago Auto Show.
2016 Honda Pilot Exterior
As announced by the manufacturer, the 2016 Honda Pilot brings dramatic design changes. After a somewhat boring design which was present for over a decade, Honda Pilot finally gets attractive style – It is more sophisticated, more muscular and sportier than its predecessor.
Both front and rear end are revised, while some new elements available include LED headlights with automatic high-low beam switching, LED daytime running lamps, 20 inch wheels, panoramic roof and LED brake taillights.
Overall, the new Honda Pilot is larger, but its weight is reduced for approximately 300 pounds.
2016 Honda Pilot Interior
The 2016 Honda Pilot interior went also through some changes and got some novelties from the CR-V. The new interior features a digital instrument cluster, while the center stack became more organized and user friendly, giving overall more premium feeling. However, it seems that the list of optional features is longer than the one with equipment that comes standard. Most notable optional tech-goodies include improved Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation and 9 inch rear entertainment system.
The new Pilot also boasts with one of the best safety systems, which includes Honda Sensing suite with driver assist technologies like LaneWatch, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Monitor and Blind Spot Indicators.
2016 Honda Pilot Engine
The new 2016 Honda Pilot will be powered by the new 3.5 liter V6 engine, which now adds direct injection, Variable Cylinder Management (VCM. Honda’s variable displacement technology) and start-stop technology which also can be found inside Honda Accord. The car will be offered with six speed or optional nine speed automatic transmission and a choice between FWD and AWD. As for horsepower and torque, there is no official information yet, but we will update this article as soon as we find out.
UPDATE: Engine specs are out! The new 2016 Honda Pilot will be powered by 3.5 liter V6, which delivers output of 280 hp @ 6000 rpm and 262 lb-ft @ 4700 rpm.

When it comes to prices, MSRP will vary on model chosen. The 2016 Honda Pilot LX price starts at $29.995, the EX starts at $32,430, the Ex-L at $35,905, the Touring $41,020, while the most expensive is Elite, which starts at $46,420.
