This is nice, but don’t you think this is way too little power comparing its competition? Most notable competitors, Nissan Juke features a 1.6 liter engine with 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, while Mazda CX-3 offers 2.0 liter SkyActiv which delivers around 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque.

Let’s see what else Honda HR-V offers. Hopefully, we will find out does this nice car have any chance in this segment.

According to Honda, 2016 HR-V mpg rates are: 28 miles per gallon city, 35 mpg highway and 31 mpg combined, with front wheel drive and optional CVT. With these numbers, HR-V outperforms almost all vehicles from this segment. With AWD (available only with CVT) these numbers are not that good 27 mpg city, 32 highway and 29 combined. Even lower rates are for 2WD and six speed manual transmission – 25 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined. Still, these rates are pretty decent for this type of car.

2016 Honda HR-V Exterior and Dimensions

Although the new 2016 Honda HR V is closely related to the Honda Fit, its platform-mate, when it comes to appearance these two don’t have much in common. This model fits just below the Honda CR-V and they share some same elements. The 2016 Honda HR-V spicen up its design with elements on its own, but the headlights and curved hood clearly are inspired by its older brother. Other design elements, especially on the rear implies that HR-V has the style of its own.

Compared to previously mentioned Fit model, the new HR-V is slightly bigger – wheelbase is 9 inches wider, overall length increased for 3 inches and it’s three inches taller. Its cargo space is also bigger, offering 58.8 cubic feet with rear folded rear seats compared to Fit’s 52 cu-ft.

Instrument cluster and steering wheel remained the same in both Fit and CR-V, but in other areas these two models are combined inside the new HR-V interior. The interior materials feature soft-touch materials and hard plastic like Fit model, but it gives more sophisticated and comfortable feel. Instrument cluster changes the speedometer’s illumination from white to green, depending of course on fuel consumption.
