The 2016 Ford Explorer is offered in three models. The first one is powered by 2.3 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine which delivers 270 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Under the hood of the second model is 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 engine which delivers 290 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque and it’s paired with six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission, while third model offers 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 with 365 hp, 350 lb-ft torque and also six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission.

The power distributed to the front and rear wheels will be shown on revised four-wheel-drive gauge display, while the Terrain Management System offers four different terrain driving modes, depending on driving conditions/road – normal, snow, mud and sand. When the car is started it is automatically switched to Normal mode.
2016 Ford Explorer Exterior Design
Ford Explorer 2016 design went through some serious changes. It features a completely new front and rear fascia, as well as more conventional honeycomb-styled grille on the front. New pentangular headlights are placed higher and there are also new fog lamps which are also placed a bit higher compared to previous models. All the changes on the front made it look a bit more robust.
Fewer changes are notable around back where Explorer mostly kept its standard looks with slightly smaller taillights. The car will roll on standard 18 inch wheels while 20 inch wheels are optional.

The 2016 Ford Explorer interior is not significantly changed, but it looks much more practical and comfortable for the driver himself. Instrument cluster looks more sophisticated than on last year’s model, while its infotainment system now features regular buttons instead of touch sensitive ones.

In order to improve comfort, the door armrests are higher while its new door seals improve quietness during driving. Previously mentioned Platinum trim provides wood accents, while whole interior is covered in premium leather including dashboard and steering wheel, giving overall very luxurious and high-style appearance.
