All-new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu made its debut at 2015 New York Auto Show and with it the manufacturer shows intention to put this car in the upper class. In an attempt to make up for the drop in sales (200,594 Malibu units sold in 2013 while in 2014 this number dropped 188,519) GM is bringing several new features and updates, showing that way their intentions are serious. However, competition is very tough with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord in the race.
2016 Chevrolet Malibu Exterior Changes
From outside, 2016 Chevrolet Malibu looks sportier and more elegant than before. Most of its styling is inspired by Cheverolet Impala and the promise made by Mark Reuss from GM that we should be prepared to be blown away styling-wise became truth.
Enhancements are very prominent on the front with updated apron and wide split front grille. Around back are new slimmer taillights and sportier trunk lid, giving overall very aerodynamic appearance. The car is not only stretched for nearly four inches, its weight is approximately reduced for 300 pounds.
2016 Chevrolet Malibu Interior
The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu interior looks as nice as its exterior. Its cabin provides more leg room around back than in previous models, while its center stack is dominated by seven inch color touch screen. On higher trims eight inch model comes standard, but it’s also available for lower trims as optional equipment. The manufacturer presents the new OnStar 4G LTE as “segment-exclusive”, and besides this technology, wireless phone charging is also available. And when it comes to safety technologies, the manufacturer didn’t leave anything out. A list of 2016 Chevrolet Maliby safety pack includes Forward Collision Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, 10 standard air bags, with other available goodies like Automatic Parking Assist, Front Pedestrian Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Intellibeam (automatically switches the headlamps to high beam for better road illumination) Side Blind Zone Alertetc.
