The all-new 2016 BMW X1 comes refreshed and with a sportier design than the previous model. Its engines are updated, but only one type of engine will be available for the US market.
2016 BMW X1 Engines
For markets worldwide BMW will offer a wide range of engines. However, in the US this model will come only in xDrive28i trim and with all wheel drive.
The new 2016 BMW X1 will be powered by twin-turbo 2.0 liter four cylinder engine which generates 228 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque. Current owners will probably notice a drop in overall output for 12 HP, but nevertheless when it comes to acceleration this is the quickest car in the segment – to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour, it needs only 6.3 seconds and its top speed is rated at 130 mph but it can be increased to 143.
2016 BMW X1 Interior
The 2016 BMW X1 interior is completely updated, but probably most important is that it offers much more luggage and cabin space.
The dashboard is split in two by aluminum strip and it gives very classy appearance along with leather-wrapped multi function steering wheel.
Standard seats are dressed in cloth, but leather ones come optional. Furthermore, optional equipment includes panoramic moonroof, 8.8 inch display, 12 speaker sound system and much, much more, while M sport package will have sports seats and paddle shifters.
2016 BMW X1 Exterior
From the outside, the new BMW X1 2016 looks very much like the X5. This is the result of BMW’s hard work to improve the looks of their mini SUV and results are pretty good.
On the front, its recognizable grille is a bit larger than on the previous model as well as its fog lights and air intakes. Looking at it from the side will reveal similar appearance as before, but with larger windows. Around back there are new tail lights with nicely redesigned tailgate.

The new BMW X1 2016 is already on the market and its US price starts at around $33,000.
